Welcome to Our Baseball Journey.com!
We are absolutely thrilled you’re here to share this adventure with us. Our story started decades ago when we met at a very young age, and this year, we are celebrating 36 wonderful years of marriage. Throughout all those years, one constant in our lives has been a deep, unyielding passion for baseball—specifically, pulling for our beloved San Diego Padres. For a long time, the busy chaos of demanding work schedules and the beautiful, exhausting responsibility of raising our family meant baseball had to take a backseat. We missed the sounds of the ballpark, the energy of the crowd, and the simple joy of the game. But today, we are officially empty nesters. With our kids grown and a little more breathing room in our lives, we have decided it is finally time to step up to the plate and launch a dream we've held onto for years: a journey to visit all 30 Major League Baseball parks.
Because one of us is still working full-time, we plan to take this journey at our own pace, traveling to about one or two clubs per year. It is going to be slow in coming, but we promise to make every single stop incredibly detailed. This website won't just be a surface-level travel log; we want to give you a true, front-row seat to our experiences. Every time we visit a new park, we will be providing deep-dive details about the club, the history, and the unique culture of the stadium. We’ll share the exact game data from the night we attended, the final results, plenty of photos of us enjoying the park, and a running tally of our travel statistics—including the total miles we've traveled and the overall cost of our trips.
Most importantly, every single stadium review will feature a dedicated, comprehensive disability accessibility section. As a wheelchair user, navigating massive public venues comes with a unique set of challenges, and we know firsthand how hard it can be to find reliable, real-world information. We are going to explicitly review the accessibility of the concession stands, the ease of navigating the restrooms, the sightlines from adaptive seating sections, and overall stadium mobility. We also want to shine a spotlight on the human element of our travels, making sure to highlight and thank any particular stadium ushers or staff members who go above and beyond to make our visit seamless. We are so incredibly excited to finally bring this dream to life, and we look forward to keeping this space regularly updated as we check stadiums off our bucket list, one ballpark at a time!
